Kobo Basics

Turn On & Off: The power button is located on the top of the device.

Finding Books on the Kobo: New books can be found on the Home screen.

The rest of the books on the Kobo can be found by tapping Library and then Books.

Discover: By tapping Discover you will find books that Kobo has recommended for purchase.

 Home Screen Options

Home Button: This button takes you back to the Home screen shown above.

Battery Indicator: A visual indication of the remaining battery life.

Settings: Shows the date and time, whether or not the Wi-Fi is on, Battery Life in % and a button for the device settings.

Library: Where you can find Books, New & Magazines, Previews and Shelves that have been loaded onto the device.


In Book Settings

Percent Read: This shows your progress, and sometimes is a "Home" button.

Location: You can see what your progress through book is, just to the beginning or end of the book, and go to the previous view here.

Book: This includes shortcuts to the table of Contents, Annotations, Searching the Book for a word or term, and access to the internal dictionary.

Text Settings: This is where you change the font size and style, line spacing, margins, and justification.

Other Settings: Includes social reading links such as posting your progress to Facebook, and syncing your book with other devices.


Connecting to Wi-Fi

If you do not have a Wi-Fi connection, drag down the status bar and tap on the Wi-Fi button. All networks that are in range will be listed.

Tap on the network you would like to use. If there is a password needed you will be prompted to enter it.


Resetting the Kobo

If you need to reset the device to remove personal information, please follow these steps.

  1. Tap on the Settings icon on the home screen, and then on Settings again.
  2. Tap on "Device Information" and then "Factory Reset"
